Who Teaches This

Linus Bergqvist, lead drawing instructor

Linus Bergqvist

Lead Instructor

Taught drawing fundamentals to over 800 students since 2019. Previously worked as a technical illustrator for architectural firms, which is where he learned to break down complex forms into manageable steps.

Our Teaching Background

Technical Foundation

We started teaching drawing because students kept asking how to make their sketches more accurate. Our approach comes from years of working with architecture firms where precision mattered.

Student-Focused Method

Every lesson is structured around common mistakes we've seen hundreds of times. You get direct corrections on proportion issues, shading problems, and composition choices.

Consistent Schedule

We run sessions twice weekly for group classes and offer individual slots that fit different time zones. Recordings are available if you miss a session.

Feedback System

Every submitted assignment gets written feedback within 48 hours. We mark specific areas that need work and explain why certain techniques improve your results.

What You Actually Get

These are the materials and resources included with enrollment. No upsells or hidden tiers.

Different Ways to Learn

Group Classes

Join scheduled sessions with 8-12 other students. Watch demonstrations, ask questions, and see how others solve the same drawing problems you're facing.

  • Tuesday and Thursday evenings
  • 90-minute sessions
  • Recorded for later viewing

Private Lessons

One-on-one sessions focused on your specific challenges. Useful if you're struggling with particular techniques or want faster feedback on your work.

  • Schedule by request
  • 60-minute focused sessions
  • Direct technique correction

Self-Paced Study

Work through video lessons and assignments on your own timeline. Submit work for review when ready and attend live sessions as your schedule allows.

  • Full course access included
  • Work at your own speed
  • Optional live participation

Additional Learning Activities

Students participating in monthly drawing challenge with varied submissions

Monthly Challenges

Each month we post a new drawing prompt with specific technical requirements. It's optional but gives you practice applying techniques outside the structured assignments.

Past prompts included urban sketching from photos, portrait studies using specific lighting setups, and still life compositions with unusual objects. You submit your work and see how other students approached the same challenge.

Archive of technique workshops covering specific drawing methods

Technique Workshops

Once per month we run a deeper session on a specific technique like cross-hatching, perspective drawing, or gesture sketching. These are 2-hour focused workshops separate from regular classes.

Workshops are recorded and added to the resource library. Recent topics included atmospheric perspective for landscape drawing and constructive figure drawing using basic forms.

Peer Reviews

Optional system where you can request feedback from other students. Useful for getting different perspectives on your work and seeing how others interpret the same lessons.

Reference Library

Growing collection of high-quality reference photos organized by subject. Currently includes 500+ images for practice drawing everything from basic objects to complex scenes.

Q&A Archive

Searchable database of questions from past students with detailed answers. Covers common problems like fixing proportion errors, improving line quality, and understanding value relationships.

Typical Learning Path

1

Weeks 1-3: Line and Form

Learn to control your drawing tools and create clean lines. Practice seeing objects as basic shapes and translating them to paper accurately.

2

Weeks 4-6: Proportion and Measurement

Develop techniques for getting proportions right without measuring tools. Work on comparative measurement and establishing accurate relationships between elements.

3

Weeks 7-9: Value and Shading

Study how light creates form through shading. Practice creating smooth gradients and understanding where highlights, midtones, and shadows should appear.

4

Weeks 10-12: Composition

Learn to arrange elements on the page for balanced, interesting drawings. Work on focal points, negative space, and creating visual flow through your compositions.

What Students End Up Doing

After finishing the core curriculum, most students continue practicing on their own with the techniques they've learned. Some use drawing as a foundation for other creative work like design or illustration.

Others found the skills useful for their existing careers in fields like architecture, product design, or visual documentation. A few decided to pursue more advanced art training after building confidence with fundamentals.

68% Continue practicing after course completion
41% Apply skills to work projects
23% Pursue additional art training

Numbers based on follow-up surveys sent 6 months after course completion to 312 students who finished between 2022-2024.
